Self Analysis

We always go on about SWOT analysis. How important it is. How we need strategy formulation and turnaround to effectuate competitive advantage. The inherent mandate that exploits core competencies is exercised by employing strategy. As pointed out by Robert Greene in The 48 Laws of Power and War:the 33 Strategies, strategy is the cornerstone if not the mother of victories.

However everything starts with awareness of the self. Quoting from 'War:The 33 Strategies' a man who is not aware of self is in war with self.  The need to conduct a self analysis is imperative. It starts with these basic questions:

  • what do i want out of life?
  • what are my goals: financial, personal and spiritual?
  • where do i see myself in two(2) to five(5) years?
  • what are my strengths and weaknesses (at least five[5])?
  • Where do i see opportunities and inherent obstacles?
  • what resources do i have at my advantage?
  • The people i associate with are they adding value to my life or eroding it?
By answering these few and straightforward questions, one can map out a plan that will determine the goal setting and eventually the implementation. The bottom line is to get up and do it. Do it. No one, not even me has the power to make you get up. All we can do is to give you tips, but the 1st step is the that will map your destiny.
