A while back I sat in the combi and was a bit oblivious to the conversation and chit chat around me. There were snippets of conversation of who is cheating on who, how the foreigners are grabbing land, the uni-directional movement of goods and commodities. Well,this kind of brought me to reality because another conversation was taking place on the seat in front of me. There were two ladies, tertiary students discussing their private lives (I will assume they were private given the topic in discussion).
However, curiosity got the best of me and yes there I was eavesdropping without a shame. It went on like this:
Lady1:...i just thought to myself and forgive him and go on with my life. After all i am not the only one.
Lady2: not only one what? not only one cheating on you or you know of other girls?
Lady1: its not the first time he did this. And I keep forgiving him...
Lady2: why dont you revenge?
Lady1: revenge how? ae mma I am not that kind, I can't imagine myself just going out and sleeping with another guy...
Lady2: but he can, and he is and he will keep on doing it?
Lady1: I dont know what to do. I feel betrayed and so lonely and useless...[pauses]
Lady2: see, so get someone who can give you that attention
Lady1: *Lady I can't believe you are saying that!
Lady2: But I am, and its the norm in the city. What you think my man is the only one? Haebo? A girl got bills to pay and maintenance to handle.
lady1: I think he will change!
Lady2: Ha! and MELS will win the 2014 elections..! Look it doe snot hurt to have side plate, you do know a meal has three course and even when we do ribnight there is a side plate? Yeah so...
Lady1: I thought you will advise me against that because I think i will be making a mistake.
Lady2: Our stop is coming up so yeah, lets talk when we get home....
